JL Commercial Services managed the development of SK Coffee’s newest location at 50 South Sixth in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. This project marked a milestone for SK Coffee, being their first collaboration with an owner’s rep firm to streamline the construction process from start to finish. Our team managed all project phases, ensuring a seamless flow between design, construction, and final implementation.
Partnering with Studio Grey for architectural design, Crawford Merz for general contracting, Fluid Interiors for furniture, and Boelter for equipment, we transformed the space to reflect SK Coffee’s modern and welcoming brand. Key features include a custom-crafted rounded product display shelf, iconic wooden slat design elements for a cohesive brand identity, and a custom-colored Slayer Espresso machine as a centerpiece. The vibrant color palette of mint, green, and pink creates an inviting atmosphere that celebrates SK Coffee’s unique style.
One of the project’s main challenges was revitalizing the space to stand out from the previous large coffee franchise while embracing its downtown location—a decision aligned with SK Coffee’s mission to rejuvenate the area. JL Commercial Services effectively managed the complexities of urban logistics and design to deliver a space that feels distinctly SK Coffee.
